It measures approximately 1,330 feet in length and 3 feet in height. Believed to represent an unwinding serpent, the mound is another mystery in American history.
Most think the serpent is about to swallow an egg. However, other theories exist suggesting various interpretations. Some think it may represent an eclipse. Adding to the mystery are the cave-like, or hollow structures that are present in the underground and the magnetic anomolies.
It is also aligned with the stars and Great Pyramids and was used to harness energy.
A strange design that appears to be pointing towards Serpent Mount was found in a field across from the entrance to the Serpent Mound and remains under investigation. There are apparently no tracks leading to it, which is often the giveaway of hoax crop circles.
The smaller circles on the sides of the design measure 12' in diameter with the larger bottom circle measuring 16'. The total design measures 300' in diameter. The crop circle is located along the edge of an ancient 5-mile wide meteor crash site between an earthen fault line and a compression fault.
It is aligned so that the axis of the eye points directly at the Great Serpent Mound, which is 3,000 feet away, up on the plateau. The element Iridium, which is quite rare on Earth, is found in abundance at Serpent Mound.
Strange things have long since been reported around Serpent Mound, including numerous reports of a flying object with pulsating red, green, blue and white lights that zigzags in a tight circle throughout the sky. Additionally, eye witnesses have described seeing orange glowing spheres nearly five feet in diameter which they refer to as “earth lights.
